What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves onto your device when you visit. They help the site remember things — like whether you have visited before or which pages you looked at — so the experience feels a little smoother on your next visit.
Most cookies are harmless and do not hold any personal details like your name or payment information. They simply store a short reference — a code that a site can read to understand how it is being used.
This page explains which cookies Teratai Systems uses, why we use them, and how you can adjust your preferences at any time.
Cookie Types We Use
These keep the basic parts of the website working. Without them, pages may not load properly or your session may not be retained between clicks.
Examples: session identifiers, security tokens, cookie consent record
These help us understand how visitors move through the site — which pages get attention and where people tend to leave. The data is gathered in summary form and does not identify anyone personally.
Examples: page views, session duration, traffic source
These track activity across websites to help us and our partners show content that may be relevant to you. You can turn these off without affecting your ability to use the site.
Examples: ad personalisation signals, retargeting identifiers
These remember small choices you have made — such as a preferred language or region — so you do not have to select them again on each visit.
Examples: language setting, region preference, display options
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by services we use to help run and improve the site. These third parties have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to read them if you would like more detail.
- Google Analytics — summarises how visitors use the site; data is aggregated and anonymised
- Google Maps — used for the embedded map showing our Melaka location
- Meta (Facebook) — advertising signals if you have interacted with our pages
- Microsoft Bing — conversion tracking for search advertising
How Long Cookies Last
Session Cookies
These exist only while your browser is open. Once you close the tab or window, the cookie is cleared.
Persistent Cookies
These stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. Depending on the cookie, this can range from a few days to up to two years. Our consent record, for example, is kept for twelve months before we ask again.
Your Cookie Preferences
You can adjust your choices below at any time. Essential cookies cannot be turned off as they are needed for the site to function. Changes take effect straight away and are saved to your browser.

Managing Cookies in Your Browser
You can also manage or delete cookies directly through your browser settings. The steps below cover the most common browsers. Note that blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

- Select Settings, then scroll to Privacy and security.

Mobile browsers generally offer cookie controls through their settings menus. Look for Privacy or Site Settings within the browser's main settings. On Android, Chrome follows the same steps as the desktop version. On iPhone, Safari settings are found under the main Settings app rather than inside the browser itself.
Keep in mind that clearing cookies on a phone will also sign you out of sites you use regularly, so it is worth being selective if you prefer not to log back into everything.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to withdraw your consent for optional cookies at any time using the preference controls above. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that has already taken place based on your earlier choices.
You may also ask us what data we hold about you, or request that it be deleted, by writing to us at the address below. We will respond within a reasonable period and in line with Malaysian data protection requirements.
Turning off optional cookies will not stop you from browsing the site or submitting enquiries. Some features — such as the embedded map — may require certain third-party cookies to display properly.
